Major Ballard and his Marines have set aside time for a regular Cigar Night. They began this time to reflect — especially on the week’s more harrowing experiences. To his Marines, after a week of near misses from enemy fire, he says “I tell them quite seriously, to take some time, a friend if so inclined, and go enjoy a good cigar and ponder how good life is. You don’t have to write about specific topic every time. Just tell them about the big and little things that happened throughout the day.
